WSD has just completed the redesign of thebarlow.net, which showcases the new commercial property development project in the city of Sebastopol. Their older website was incredibly difficult to navigate and didn't give them room to grow if they wanted to add new pages or information. So, we re-designed the interface to keep the existing branding and "industrial" feel but in a better, organized, easier-to-use manner. The site now has drop-down menus under each section, so the client can add pages and info without having to try to squeeze in extra buttons. We also built a contact form that stores contact requests in a database.
Finally, Java script animations features give to the site a cool and dynamic aspect, comparable with Apple products. A former apple factory, The Barlow enjoys an ideal location in downtown Sebastopol. Designed to be earth-friendly, this place is being reinvented to help beautify the community as well as provide a boost to local businesses. The goal is to gather together all the best products, wine, cheese, coffee, bakeries, produce and more in a unique and convivial place. The founders have created a space that offers a synergy amongst the makers of the region's finest products, as well as a direct connection between the consumer and the makers of the local products they love. Several amenities like bocce ball courts, restaurants, or fire pits are planned to welcome visitors and families. "Our mission is to create and maintain a well-planned, organic environment for the community to conduct business, share food and enjoy art, wine and time together." The Barlow Grand Opening is planned for spring 2012.
