Monroe Gallery photographer Stephen Wilkes will be featured on CBS Sunday Morning on November 4th to talk about his latest collection "Day to Night." Wilkes has been widely recognized for his fine art, editorial and commercial photography and has earned numerous awards and honors. His most recent collection, Day to Night, features vibrant photographs of iconic cityscapes like Times Square, Park Avenue, and the Bethesda Fountain, in which he captures the fleeting transition from day into night.
Wilkes uses digital composites of images taken from one camera angle over a period of up to 15 hours to create a quality of time change and flow. The hustle and bustle of Times Square in the early afternoon gives way to glowing city lights, darkening skies, and taxi brake lights.
"Day to Night embodies a combination of my favorite things to photograph; documentary street photography melded with epic cityscapes," says Wilkes.
