According to CNN, Cloudflare, and ZDNet, on Sunday, August 30, 2020, CenturyLink, a major internet service provider, experienced an outage that impacted Cloudflare, Amazon, Hulu, The PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Reddit, Feedly, Discord, and many other online internet services.
The internet infrastructure and security giant, Cloudflare uses CenturyLink as one of their network providers – causing a ripple effect to their customers. In a comprehensive analysis of the CenturyLink/Level(3) outage, Cloudflare said the CenturyLink issue led to a 3.5% drop in global web traffic.
CenturyLink tweeted on Sunday that the issues had been resolved a little after 8:00 a.m. PST.
